Roman Reigns' storyline as forced to continue last night without him

Was Roman Reigns double-booked last night? There is no real reason why The Big Dog shouldn't have been part of SummerSlam last night since there is a huge storyline on-going that was forced to continue without him since he obviously wasn't booked for this year's show.

It was made obvious in recent weeks that Reigns wouldn't be competing at SummerSlam, but since he attacked Buddy Murphy on SmackDown on Tuesday night, it would have made sense for him to find Erick Rowan and give him a piece of his mind at the first available opportunity.

Instead, Rowan found Murphy during his match against Apollo Crews and decided to send him a message. This would have been the perfect time for Reigns to make his way to the ring and make the save before attacking Rowan himself.

Instead, the storyline ended with the attack on the pre-show and Reigns then failed to appear all the way through the show. There wasn't even a backstage segment where he was attacked again by a mystery person, which feels like WWE wasted a night that could have been quite useful.
