The read United States Champion should retain his title
Apollo Crews emerged as one of the breakout Superstars during these difficult times and soon found himself in the title picture. He finally became the United States Champion but was soon ruled out of action after reportedly testing positive for COVID-19. In his absence, MVP introduced a new and improved United States Championship and declared himself as the title-holder. He is now set to face Crews at SummerSlam with the US Title on the line.
At the upcoming PPV, Crews should retain his title and continue his run as a champion. MVP, the leader of the Hurt Business, doesn’t really need a title reign for himself in order to add more credibility to his recent run. Crews, on the other hand, will be at the risk of losing all his momentum if he drops his title at SummerSlam.
Ever since his return to WWE, MVP has used his influence backstage to push a lot of young and talented Superstars on RAW. Having Crews successfully defend his title a SummerSlam will further extend MVP’s as he can effortlessly make his opponent look good. Moreover, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are technically not allowed near the ring, so a win for Crews will help WWE in booking the champion in a strong light.
