What’s the story?

WrestleMania 34 is widely rumoured to be one of the last shows Brock Lesnar will make an appearance under a WWE contract and the advertisement for a future event could indicate whether he plans to re-sign.

In case you didn’t know

Lesnar’s second run with the WWE began the night after WrestleMania 28 – a year after The Beast Incarnate retired from UFC. Lesnar has remained with the company since 2012 and has won two world titles in the process.

The heart of the matter

Many believe that Lesnar is not returning to WWE due to ESPN Reporter Arash Markazi sharing the image of the 2018 SummerSlam collection tickets.

The tickets featured many WWE superstars including Braun Strowman, Ronda Rousey, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, The New Day, Shinsuke Nakamura, Roman Reigns and many others.

Notably absent from the collection tickets were John Cena and Lesnar, whom many believe will not be at SummerSlam this year. In Lesnar’s case, his absence on the show would indicate that he won’t be returning to the company once his contract expires in April.

With the Nakamura, Reigns, and Strowman expected to win championship gold at WrestleMania 34, the belief is that most of the wrestlers featured on the collection ticket are expected to be champions heading into SummerSlam.

However, while the chances of Lesnar not re-signing are a lot higher with his absence on the SummerSlam ticket, there is also a chance that the WWE would try to negotiate another deal with him.

WWE was in a similar situatio with Lesnar heading into WrestleMania 31 with many people believing he would leave the company for UFC, but The Beast Incarnate ended up signing a deal that kept him in professional wrestling for three more years.

What’s next?

Expect Lesnar’s contract status to become a major talking point as WrestleMania 34 draws near.

Regardless of his desire to stay a professional wrestler, his time as Universal Champion is the only thing fans are certain is coming to an end.

Many fans have suggested that Lesnar doesn’t seem as interested as he was initially and are calling for him to leave the company, but that decision lies in the hands of Vince McMahon and the current Universal Champion.
