Of course, WWE needs to find someone for him to eventually drop the belt to, but once that takes place, it is very likely that WWE will pump the breaks on the highflyer storyline wise.

With that being said and his litany of issues listed above, it should come as no surprise that Jeff Hardy is someone the company had a lot of faith in going forward, but no longer do.
