#5 Triple H vs Batista - Vengeance, June 26, 2005

Batis
Batista dominated Triple H

In June 2005, World Heavyweight Champion, Batista had already defeated his former mentor and nemesis, Triple H on two occasions; first to win the gold at Wrestlemania 21 and in a rematch at Backlash.

In response, in a desperate bid to regain the gold, Triple H challenged his former charge to his speciality, Hell in a Cell.

However, in an incredibly violent match-up, the apprentice defeated the master at his own game.

After a matchup that saw steel chairs, steps and sledgehammers brought into the fray, Batista power-bombed his opponent onto the steps for the victory.

Batista, the main-eventer had arrived.

#4 Triple H vs Cactus Jack, No Way Out, February 27, 2000

Cactus Jack gets ready to DDT Triple H

Cactus Jack put his career on the line against Triple H's WWF Championship in a match that upped the violence factor from their classic at the Royal Rumble event one month earlier.

In scenes reminiscent of Mick Foley's match with The Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998 as his Mankind character, Cactus Jack found himself atop the Hell in a Cell roof once more.

A backdrop from Triple H to Cactus Jack sent him crashing through the roof to the canvas below.

The force of the fall was such, that the ring canvas actually buckled under Jack's weight.

The match was almost over. Triple H pedigreed Cactus to ostensibly end his career.

Triple H was victorious but both men suffered immense punishment in this brutal but classic encounter.

#3 Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker - Hell in a Cell, October 25, 2015

The staredown is on! Undertaker and Brock Lesnar's final chapter in their epic feud

Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker's final in-ring encounter was their best ever.

Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker clashed for the last time in the ultimate feud ending structure, Hell in a Cell.

The pair had fought each other inside the cell before, 13 years earlier in a horrifically bloody and violent encounter, which saw a fountain of blood pour out of Undertaker's head.

There was less blood in this encounter but the intensity was off the charts. Lesnar was determined to finish off 'Taker once and for all. He ripped off the ring canvas exposing the hardwood beneath it and smashed 'Taker onto it hard.

Hard hitting, intense and violent. This was everything that Hell in a Cell is meant to be

#2 The Undertaker vs Triple H - Wrestlemania 28, April 1 2012

Triple H and The Undertaker battle in their "End of an Era" match

The Undertaker and Triple H are scheduled to clash for a final time at Super Show-down in Melbourne, Australia in October, but their most recent encounter, inside Hell in a Cell, will take some topping.

Billed as an "End of an Era" match, the two remaining legends of the Attitude Era clashed in the third of their trilogy of Wrestlemania matches.

The result was the same as the previous two, as Undertaker preserved his Wrestlemania undefeated streak at the expense of his great foe.

With Triple H's buddy, Shawn Michaels installed as the special referee, the deck was stacked against the "Phenom."

The match was a masterful demonstration of psychology as the previous three Wrestlemania encounters involving the three men were all referenced and called back to.

Michaels' performance added drama as he nearly lost his mind at Undertaker's refusal to lose.

Finally, Undertaker would prove victorious and the three men would embrace and show respect to each other. It was a fitting end to a legendary match.

#1 Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker - Badd Blood, October 5, 1997

Kane confronts The Undertaker at the conclusion of the inaugural Hell in a Cell Match

The first ever Hell in a Cell match was a thrilling and intense encounter.

The feud between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker ended in brutal and bloody fashion.

Both men blasted each other with brutal steel chair shots to the head and body and utilized the cage mesh and steel steps to a violent effect on one another.

After Michaels attacked a camera-man, the locked cell door was opened to stretcher him out. Once unlocked, the action spilled outside and ended on the roof of the cell.

As a bloodied Michaels desperately tried to escape The Undertaker by climbing down the cell, 'Taker caught up to him and smashed his boots on Michaels's hands causing him to lose his balance and crash through an announce table below.

Just as it seemed 'Taker was about to claim victory, his long-lost brother Kane emerged and tomb-stoned him. An alert Michaels, with all of the energy, left remaining in his battered body crawled over to his fallen foe and covered him for the win.

Michaels's face was a proverbial crimson mask but he had won the first and what still remains the best Hell in a Cell match of all time.
