First ever Hell in a Cell
First ever Hell in a Cell

The first ever Hell in a Cell match took place in 1997 between two of the biggest superstars of that era. The then European Champion faced off against the Undertaker in his kayfabe 'home' with the winner set to face then WWF champion Bret Hart at Survivor Series.

This match was the beginning of an era as the Big Red Machine, Kane made his debut during the match. Kane was Undertaker's kayfabe brother and his arrival shook up the WWE universe. Shawn Michales and Undertaker had a great match, which went back and forth for a long time before Paul Bearer brought Kane into the ring. Kane did his signature pose for the first time before giving a Tombstone Piledriver to his brother. HBK pinned Undertaker after the distraction.

Undertaker v Kane is a rivalry which went on for years and produced some of the finest matches in WWE. These two behemoths fought for years and later teamed up to become the Brothers of Destruction. This match is still remembered by the fans as Kane's debut was an unexpected surprise and a compelling sight to watch.
