Winner: Chad Gable

This was the shock of the night, and credit to WWE for delivering it with excellence.

In what looked like a rerun from last year's controversy at the already controversial Crown Jewel show, Shane McMahon substituted himself for Elias in the King of the Ring tournament. It was now up to the suddenly resurgent Chad Gable to stop history from repeating itself. The deck was even more stacked by Shane McMahon forcing Kevin Owens to act as a corrupt referee in the match against his will.

And yet, not only did Gable win, he did so by forcing Shane McMahon to tap out.

Unquestionably, it's the biggest moment of his career. Shane has been an unstoppable pest this year, not even losing to Kevin Owens cleanly.

Now Gable tapped him out.

Alas, he's still likely to lose the finals to Baron Corbin, but this was still a great moment.
