According to reports in Deadline.com, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has secured the lead role for the Hercules movie,
Production on the film is scheduled to begin in “early 2013,” which would coincide with The Rock’s involvement with WWE in the weeks leading up to WWE’s biggest PPV WrestleMania 29.
The action film will be directed by Brett Ratne and will be co-produced by Paramount and MGM. The screenplay is based on Radical Studios’ graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars.
