The Rock talks about his battle with depression

All of us love Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and the best thing we know him for is thrashing mountains of wrestlers, beating them to pulp and making many a men cry. But who could have thought that even the most electrifying man in entertainment had a tender heart that he had managed to hide from media and his fans for so long.

Apparently, in a recent interview to Hollywood Reporter, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson talks about the tough times he faced in his childhood. It’s a fact that The Rock had a crushed childhood due to many reasons. One of the main reasons was that he rarely got to see his father, Rocky Johnson who was also a wrestler. “Dewey [Dwayne] had a really hard time as a child growing up because he never saw his dad,” Luan Crable, who had a 25-year long romantic affair with Dwayne’s father, admitted this to Star Magazine.

In the recent interview, The Rock talked about the time when he was 14 and had to leave his home shared with his mother due to eviction. At that time around, he had some minor problems with the law. All that lead to him bulking up and focusing on sports as he believed that all the sucessful men he had seen had great bodies. After being transformed into a responsible NFL hopeful attending the Miami University on a full football scholarship, he sustained multiple injuries in his freshman year and that again lead to depression. He was quoted as saying,"I didn't know what it was,I didn't know why I didn't want to do anything. I had never experienced anything like that.”

He then went on to sign for the Canadian league but there also he was thrown out citing he wasn’t ‘good enough’.This also led to his fist split with his girlfriend and wife-to-be Dany Garcia. He remembers that as his worst time- "I didn't want to do a thing,I didn't want to go anywhere. I was crying constantly. Eventually you reach a point where you are all cried out."

He recently admitted to ‘bawling’ after he heard about the news of Paul Walker’s untimely demise and maintains that the two of them were thick as thieves.”I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath. We said a prayer right then to give his daughter (Meadow) strength — because we had talked about our daughters. Both of us were divorced, and we talked about the power of being a dad and the strong connection of a dad and his girl. Then once we got home, we started bawling.”
