#5 CM Punk and the Shield vs Evolution and Kane

Punk and Shield
Punk alongside The Shield would've been best for business

It's a known fact that The Shield is the brainchild of CM Punk. Punk pitched the idea to Vince McMahon and Triple H to form the Shield comprising him, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Kassius Ohno.

Triple H shot down Kassius Ohno and suggested that Roman Reigns be added to the faction, to which punk agreed. But then, Triple H took things into his own hands and went on to form The Shield without Punk, claiming it to be his idea.

When the Shield debuted in 2012 they assisted Punk to retain the WWE Championship against Ryback and John Cena and again in a match against Ryback. The group yet again tried to help Punk retain the gold by attacking the Rock at the Royal Rumble which resulted in Punk pinning the Rock. But the match was restarted by Vince McMahon and Punk ended up losing the title.

That would be the last time we saw CM Punk and The Shield on the same page. They did cross paths during the post-Survivor Series episode of Raw in 2013 where the trio attacked and took out Punk.

CM Punk would've got the opportunity to work with the faction that he came up with if he had not left the WWE. Punk aligning himself with the Shield to level the odds against Evolution and Kane in a feud would've been best for business.
