TNA News: Billy Corgan addresses rumours of Dixie Carter being "dumb"

Billy Corgan candidly gave his thoughts on Dixie Carter

Billy Corgan recently sat down with Mike Johnson of PWinsider for an interview, which lasted nearly a full hour. During the interview, Billy went in depth about numerous topics, but the meat of the conversation surrounded his time with TNA, the fallout, and what actually transpired during that time.

For those who are unaware, Corgan was working for TNA as the Senior Producer of Creative & Talent Development. Corgan eventually assumed the role of President of TNA in August.

In November 2016, Corgan stepped down from his position with the company, citing financial issues. On November 11, 2016, Corgan reached a settlement with Anthem Sports, which is the current parent company for TNA.

During the PWinsider interview, the topic was brought up about the rumours of Dixie Carter being "dumb." They went on to question her intelligence, considering she was fooled by so many in the business. Regarding those rumours, Corgan had the following to say.

"There's a common belief out there, that Dixie is dumb and easily worked. I would like to posit to the world a completely different theory, and that's the exact opposite. She's the ultimate worker because she worked all of those people, including me.

She gets you to believe something about her that's not quite true, and maybe she gets you to underestimate her intelligence, her ruthlessness, that she can still somehow come out on top.

And that fact that she's still willing to be so publicly humiliated, repeatedly, I think shows you how deeply she's invested in the public personality, or the public opportunity that she wants to have.

Don't ask me the deeper psychology, because I am not a psychologist, but I've never seen anything like it, and I've been in the entertainment business for 30 years."
