#1 Cedric Alexander vs Buddy Murphy (Cruiserweight Championship)

These two stole the show.

The hometown hero, Buddy Murphy was aptly booked to challenge for the Cruiserweight Championship against Cedric Alexander for Super Show-down. After half a year of relentless progress and unbelievable wrestling on 205 Live, Murphy looked to have his moment come at the biggest and best possible stage. Going into this match, Alexander was the champion for six months and hadn't lost a match in over a year.

There seemed to be fears over Murphy triumphing, as the other hometown heroines Peyton Royce and Billie Kay picked up a victory over Asuka and Naomi. However, the support for him was unreal, as the pair ramped up the intensity with a whole host of amazing acrobatics and gripping intensity. Man, that Standing Spanish Fly was something else, wasn't it?

This match was a perfect 10-minute advertisement for the frenetic, fast-paced action on 205 Live, as Murphy and Alexander went all-out to impress the world. They did just that, as the Australian picked up the victory after kicking out of the Lumbar Check and hitting the Murphy's Law. It was a fantastic payoff for a fantastic match. A perfect feel-good moment on the Melbourne mega-show, with the crowning of a new Cruiserweight Champion.
