It’s these great moments that leave a lasting impression in people’s minds about a person or a place, and it creates a bond.

When it comes to WWE, a lot of these moments happen which create a star out of a wrestler overnight. Even though they may have been putting in the work for years, but they get the centre stage thanks to their iconic moments.

There are a lot of such moments which have happened in the rich history of WWE, but perhaps none greater than the three mentioned below.

#3 The birth Of Austin 3:16

Give me a hell yeah!! One of the most popular wrestlers of all time, and the man with the most merchandise sales in WWE history, Stone Cold Steve Austin’s 3:16 moment was his beginning towards unparalleled stardom and popularity in the years to come.

This moment happened after his match against Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts in which he beat him for the King of the Ring title in the year 1996.

Reason: In that interview when he says that Steve Austin’s time has come, it truly had come.

After that there was no stopping this man, as he went on to win 3 Royal Rumbles (most ever), 6 World Championships, and also main evented WrestleMania 3 times.

#2 R.I.P the streak

When one of the most popular streaks in all of sports history was broken, nobody could believe what had happened. It was a moment no one thought would ever come.

First because The Undertaker seemed unbeatable in his yard, and second - WWE seemed to always make a big deal out of The Undertaker’s WrestleMania matches.

Reason: This is an iconic moment because it was unpredictable, as betting odds were in The Undertaker’s favour, and Brock Lesnar had lost his prior match to Triple H.

Nobody could have predicted that WWE had such big audacious plans to push Brock Lesnar to the roof after breaking the streak.

Before that The Undertaker had won 21 consecutive matches on the Grandest Stage against big names such as Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

#1 Mick Foley defeating The Rock for the WWF Championship

You can call him Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love, Mick Foley, or whatever you want. But his victory over The Rock has to be one of the greatest moments of all time, if not the greatest.

Reason: During that time it used to be the Monday Night Wars. WWE and WCW both competed with each other for the title of the best brand in the wrestling industry.

It is so iconic because there was a lot of controversy and rumours regarding the match. It is said that before that night’s RAW was broadcasted, the results of the match were leaked by WCW to make sure that the fans don’t watch the match, and they could win the ratings for the week.

But their plan backfired, and even more fans came in attendance and watched from their homes to see the underdog Mick Foley finally win and hoist that elusive title. After that show, WWE won the Monday Nights War, and has never had serious competition since then.
