Professional wrestlers have a lot of things in common, but what differentiates them is their finishing manoeuvres. Having a unique finisher allocates a superstar to develop his own cult.

Many wrestlers over the past years have gained positive crowd reactions for their epic finishing moves. The most unique finishers fall into four sub-categories: slam, strike, suplex, and submission.

Some of the most popular and beloved finishing moves in WWE are John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment, Kane’s chokeslam and Undertaker’s tombstone piledriver.

The WWE Universe has been criticizing the present wrestlers for the lack of innovation in finishing moves. A debatable point also comes to notice, when we see the credibility of finishers.

In fact, a lot of superstars have adapted the superkick as their finishing move. It’s things like this that dilutes the idea of a finishing move.

Whether it’s about the severity of the move, it’s impact or reliability to WWE, fans can pinpoint the best finishes of all time.

#3 RKO - Randy Orton

Diamond Dallas Page is well known for performing a variation of the cutter known as the Diamond cutter. Former WWE Champion Randy Orton established the jumping cutter as his fibisher and named it the RKO.

The RKO can be used anywhere, anytime and the most important thing it will finish off the opponent. During his 14 year tenure in wrestling, Orton has used the RKO in every possible way to demolish his opponent.

Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE History after defeating Chris Benoit at the age of 24. His nine months-long feud with the Undertaker is famous when he reversed a chokeslam from The Undertaker into an RKO eventually pinning him down.

Diamond Dallas might have made the cutter popular but nobody does it better than The Viper.

#2 Tombstone Piledriver - The Undertaker

The Tombstone Piledriver earns the second spot in the list with his uniqueness and the number of superstars The Undertaker has defeated for almost three decades.

The standard piledriver was banned by WWE after numerous superstars got injured and for safety reasons. However, WWE allowed the tombstone piledriver to go on as because it has less effect when performed successfully.

In today’s WWE, only Kane and The Undertaker are allowed to perform a piledriver; the Tombstone Piledriver. It is safer in the context that the performing superstar lands on his knees rather than his backside which allows more room between the victim’s head and the mat of the ring.

When The Brothers of Destruction, Kane and Undertaker eventually retire, it is hard to imagine that the WWE universe will ever accept any other superstar performing this move.

#1 Stone Cold Stunner - "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

This iconic finishing move was performed by none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin would hit his opponent in the groin and then apply a three-quarter face lock and drive their jaw onto his shoulders.

The move looks like the RKO where the opponent’s face is brought smashing down in the mat using a three-quarter face lock.

The Stunner was introduced to the fans when Austin performed it on WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon. It began a revolution as it propelled Austin into main wrestling events and WWE into the Attitude era.

Fans will be forever be grateful to Michael Hayes who suggested Austin use the stunner as his finishing move. The Stone Cold Stunner will forever be known as a simple popular finishing move in WWE history.

Almost every wrestler who had a long term feud with The Rattlesnake received the wrath of the stunner. Who can forget Austin’s back-to-back stunners against Scott Hall in WrestleMania X8 which gave Austin it’s very first title?
