Top 3 opponents for Jeff Hardy to face before retirement

Ever since Matt Hardy announced his retirement from active competition, questions have been raised about the younger Hardy's career as well. While he still is a great worker, Jeff Hardy has had to deal with a worn out body which has suffered through tons of scary bumps.

His recent injuries have also greatly diminished his agility and his work between the ropes. Mind you, he doesn't put on bad matches, but he has to risk his body more than usual.

That said, it won't be long when the legend hangs up his wrestling boots forever. And before he does that, here are 3 opponents he must face before he rides off into the sunset.

#1. Finn Balor

Finn Balor is a special superstar. His Demonic alter ego adds to that. That said, Jeff Hardy himself has stated that he'd like to face Finn before he retires. It'd be a really cool match if Balor decides to bring out his alter-ego.

Come to think of it, both are very similar superstars. Both are fan favourites, known for speed and skill, have a completely inhumane alter-ego, and cover their faces in paint. Their match could be an exciting clash with high speed and great spots.

#2. AJ Styles

Sure, they've faced each other in TNA, but these are different times. AJ Styles has evolved into arguably the best wrestler on the planet. He has carried lesser performers to great matches. If you need proof, Jinder Mahal worked an OKAY match with AJ Styles. This 'okay' match was levels above the rest of his tedious matches.

Just imagine the atmosphere. The fan favourite of the past vs the fan favourite of the present. The Phenomenal One vs The Charismatic Enigma. Tell me you don't smell money. Both are influential workers, and both know each other well from their past common workplace.

The grander stage of the WWE, the huge crowds, the pops that'll ensue - all this makes for a banger of a program. Book it, Vince.

#3. The Undertaker

Life comes full circle

When Jeff Hardy set out on a singles run, he was put into a match against the Undertaker for the Undisputed Championship. While there were doubts surrounding the singles ability of Jeff Hardy, he cleared them all by the end of the match.

Just like Cena vs Angle, this match was the arrival of a singles superstar. While Hardy lost the match, he had his hand raised by Undertaker, who was working as a heel at that time, as a mark of respect.

With Mark Calaway seeming busier than ever this year, a match against Hardy with a retirement stipulation could be an emotional ride. This could be the one last great feud that WWE could give Hardy before he retires.
