#2 Aleister Black

All credit to Roderick Strong, but this match was another in Aleister Black's ever-growing list of impressive NXT matches, not just from TakeOver events but also from the regular episodes of NXT as well.

Having seemingly summed up his program with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, it looks like Black is finding himself on a collision course with the Undisputed Era. The match against Strong was another step along that path, with the hard-hitting Dutchman pulling out a big win against the "Messiah of the Backbreaker".

While Strong looked to gain the advantage early, Black managed to fight back with his signature striking style. The match was evenly paced as the two exchanged moves back and forth. Towards the end of the fight, Strong looked to establish himself with the upper hand, hitting Black with a variety of moves and getting near fall after near fall. However, as Strong went to hit Black with a verticle Suplex, Black managed to slip behind Strong and hit a Black Mass to win the fight.

This brought out Kyle O'Reilly, whom Black laid out with a perfectly timed Black Mass before Black was taken down by Bobby Fish and Adam Cole. As Black was being inundated by members of the Undisputed Era, he was saved by Ricochet. Black and Ricochet then found themselves standing tall in the ring as the members of the Undisputed Era beat a hasty retreat.
