#1 Steve Austin vs The Rock, WrestleMania X-Seven

One of the greatest wrestling rivalries!

In late 1999 Stone Cold Steve Austin got injured and spent over a year out of the WWE, but when he returned, he set his eyes on The Rock and the WWE gold again. This time the two wrestlers would face off in Houston, Texas at WrestleMania X-Seven.

Months prior, Austin won the 2001 Royal Rumble and started a feud with The Rock that involved Austin's manager Debra. The hatred between the two built up, Debra was removed from the picture, and the main event was set.

Instead of just knocking out referees like their previous encounter, the battle between The Rock and Austin was declared a No Disqualification match.

Early on, a ring bell was used, and both shed blood in the WWE ring. These two changed tactics later in the match when they both used submission moves on each other. One of the most surprising parts was The Rock's clever use of Austin's stunner.

Vince McMahon showed up at ringside later in the match and stopped The Rock from defeating Austin. McMahon gave Austin a chair, which Austin used to pound The Rock with and then defeat him.

Austin turned heel for the first time in his career, shook hands with Vince McMahon and won over The Rock at WrestleMania for a second time.
