Matt Hardy made his debut in 1998 when the Attitude Era was at its peak. The Hardy Boyz - formed with his brother Jeff Hardy - then jumped to the tag-team division and soon became the fan favorites. After the team split up, Jeff became the WWE and World Heavyweight Champion but Matt never followed suit.

Matt was always seen as a tag-team wrestler; he never really got pushed as a singles competitor. His recent "Woken" Matt Hardy gimmick has finally given him the recognition that was long overdue.
