#3 Edge becomes the WWE Champion - 2008 Survivor Series
The Undertaker slammed Edge from the top of the ladder onto the ring canvas and burst him into flames at SummerSlam in a Hell in a Cell match. The Rated-R Superstar wasn't seen in WWE following that, and returned at the co-main event of Survivor Series 2008.
The original match was supposed to be a triple threat between Jeff Hardy, Triple H, and Vladimir Kozlov. However, The Charismatic Enigma was attacked earlier in the night (later revealed to be Matt Hardy) and the match became a one-on-one contest. The bout was extremely tepid and the crowd vented out their frustrations on both competitors.
They were so bored that when Vickie Guerrero had arrived midway in the match, instead of booing her, they cheered in unison. The then General Manager of SmackDown squeaked on the microphone, "He's here!". The fans believed that Jeff had recovered, but Edge came out and speared his way to victory.
