Ignoring the controversy Saudi Arabia had been marred in, WWE decided to go ahead with its Crown Jewel pay-per-view, respecting the 10-year contract they had signed with the oil-rich nation.

Apart from Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement, another notable feature of the event was an 8-man tournament named 'WWE World Cup' to decide the Best in the World.

Dolph Ziggler made it to the finals of the grueling tournament after overcoming Kurt Angle and Seth Rollins in the initial rounds, whereas The Miz clawed his way after taking out Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio.

The Miz and Dolph Ziggler brawled with each other before the match even began. As a result, The A-lister got injured, and was deemed unfit to compete. Shane McMahon, the SmackDown General Manager, was present at ringside and replaced The Miz.

After delivering a 'Coast to Coast' to the former World Champion, Shane McMahon won the tournament.
