There have been very few stars on NXT that have been able to play the role of bad guy with as much conviction as Ciampa. The ruthlessness Ciampa has exhibited has made the current NXT champion one of the most despised individuals in the industry.
It has been a long road for the champion to get to where he is today. Ciampa had previously signed a developmental contract with the WWE over a decade ago, however Ciampa was released from his contract within two years.
Ciampa has been one of the most consistent performers on the developmental brand, and has successfully worked his way to the top, winning the NXT title from Aleister Black. Tommaso has impressed the fans with his work ethic, and could soon become a top heel on the main roster.
