Top 5 takeaways from this week's RAW - October 2nd, 2017

Raw was entertaining this week, with a lot of storylines being developed, meaning that the show was multi-layered, something that the WWE creative team doesn't always get right. The Red brand is gaining momentum towards TLC, their next PPV, and potentially Survivor Series which is on the horizon.

Overall, this week's edition was an entertaining RAW and one of the better editions I have seen in a while.

#1 We will be seeing the Shield Reunite

<p>
Is the Shield Reuniting?

The Miztourage was not the strongest of opponents for a reunited Shield, and to be honest would not have got the WWE fans' pulses racing. That said, the combination of The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro is a totally different matter.

These three could pose a realistic threat to the Shield, and after the beat downs that they opportunistically provided, would justify the "Hounds of Justice" reforming to seek out retribution.

Given that Survivor Series is around the corner, it will be interesting to see how long they drag this storyline out and whether they aim for TLC, the next RAW PPV, or hold off to the bigger stage.

A big match at Survivor Series could be the reason why WWE got the faction back together

#2 Enzo Amore as Cruiserweight Champion works

Enzo cutting this weeks promo!

For the second week running, the WWE have opted for the cruiserweights to close the show, something that would have been unheard of before Enzo joined the division.

He is bringing an intriguing storyline to the viewers for the first time and the crowd is genuinely confused on whether to boo him or applaud him.

Part of us agrees with what he is saying and the other part wants to see him get beaten down week after week. One thing is for sure, the addition of Kalisto, who I presume will job to Enzo and carry him in a title match, makes for an interesting turn of events.

#3 Mickie James can still be an attraction

Since Mickie came back to the WWE, they really haven't given her a storyline and/or a platform to do herself justice. Embracing that she is one of the older stateswomen of the female division is actually playing out very well.

She looked credible against Nia Jax for the first time and looks like a legitimate threat to Alexa Bliss who needs some new blood to feud against, before finally having to face Nia and/ or the Sasha/Bayley combination.

Not to mention we are all waiting for the "Empress of Tomorrow" Asuka to arrive.

#4 Jason Jordan is a sinking ship

Jason Jordan is an incredibly talented wrestler with an abundance of in-ring skill but at the moment he just doesn't have the x-factor! His pairing with Matt Hardy, which has come about due to Jeff's injury, is really not capturing the fans imagination.

The WWE need to quickly decide what they want to do with Jordan as the whole 'Kurt Angle's son' storyline hasn't worked, and the only thing I can see salvaging this for Jordan personally is a heel turn and eventual match with Kurt Angle himself.

Whether they would waste Kurt's comeback match on Jordan is another question which only time will answer.

#5 Another match between Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt

Bray vs Fin
Bray vs Finn

I really don't know what the WWE are trying to do here as the promos for this feud between Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt getting weirder and weirder. My only guess is that last combination we haven't seen between these two is the Demon (Balor with face paint) against the Eater of Worlds (Bray with face paint).

I can only see Balor coming out of this with the win as he skirts around the Universal Championship picture and potential feuds with Lesnar, Reigns and Strowman beckon.
