WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H could make a major change to a big match at the upcoming Night of Champions Premium Live Event, which is slated to occur in Saudi Arabia on June 28, 2025. Hunter could cancel the Queen of the Ring final slated to take place at NOC and instead push this contest to the Evolution 2 PLE on July 13, 2025. The event is returning after a seven-year hiatus and is expected to be a grand affair.

Last week on SmackDown, Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce announced the revival of the King and Queen of the Ring tournament. They said that the respective winners would be granted a world title opportunity at SummerSlam this August.

The first round of both the Men's and Women's tournaments will witness a total of 16 participants clashing in a Fatal Four-Way match; two each for RAW and SmackDown respectively. The tournament will conclude at Night of Champions with both the divisions getting a potential winner.

Since Evolution 2 is expected to be one of the biggest WWE events for the female roster, Triple H could change the format for the Queen of the Ring tournament to singles contests.

This would mean there will be eight singles matches over the next few weeks between the 16 participants and subsequent knock-outs before the final of the tournament could take place at the Evolution 2 PLE on July 13 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Last year, Nia Jax became the Queen of the Ring, and she went on to dethrone Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam. Similarly, Gunther won the men's tournament, and he defeated Damian Priest at SummerSlam to become the World Heavyweight Champion. It remains to be seen who wins it this year.

Triple H speaks on the return of WWE Evolution 2 after seven years

The Game recently spoke on the return of WWE Evolution after a gap of seven years. During the Money in the Bank PLE press conference, the WWE Chief Content Officer said that he always wanted to bring Evolution 2 after Evolution 1, but felt that the timing wasn't right.

He said that he wanted to ensure that every women superstar who had wanted to be part of the event gets to do something, and that was the trickiest part.

"A lot of these women watched the first one and for them, while they thought about being on RAW and SmackDown and dream about WrestleMania, I’m sure a lot of those women were like, ‘If they did another [Evolution], that would be incredible,’ and here we are. I can’t wait to build that platform and watch them crush it. It’s what they do every time," he said. [H/T - Fightful]

It now remains to be seen how Hunter books this women-only PLE, and what big surprises he has in store for the fans.
