Triple H showed up on SmackDown last week and confronted Randy Orton, who demanded a match against Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel this Saturday, November 2. The Chief Content Officer eventually agreed to the match between KO and The Viper, making it official, but he warned the 14-time World Champion ahead of his match.
KO recently had a heel turn and assaulted his former friends Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, the former because he aligned with Roman Reigns and the latter because he came to the aid of The American Nightmare.
With The Viper out for revenge, Kevin Owens will look to punish his opponent, likely seeking to end Orton's career. Randy had to miss 18 months with a serious back injury a couple of years ago.
Thus, Triple H, who was skeptical about this match, could call it off to protect Randy Orton and make sure that it would happen once both superstars have cooled down.
Triple H has announced seven matches for the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event
It has been nearly a year since Triple H took over as the WWE Chief Content Officer, and he has done a great job with storylines and ratings. Another thing he has done is that aside from the major premium live events (like the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series), the match card for the rest always consisted of five matches.
Crown Jewel, though, will see Triple H break his rule, as seven matches have already been announced for the PLE in Saudi Arabia.
Aside from Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins will take on Bronson Reed, LA Knight will put his United States Championship on the line against Carmelo Hayes and Andrade in a Triple Threat Match, while Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will defend their Women's Tag Team titles against Kairi Sane & IYO SKY, Piper Niven & Chelsea Green and Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend in a Fatal Four-Way Match.
In the other three matches, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will face the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther in a Crown Jewel Championship Match. The Women's World Champion, Liv Morgan, will take on the Women's Champion, Nia Jax, for the inaugural WWE Women's Crown Jewel Championship.
Last but not least, the OG Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso) will reunite to face The Bloodline 2.0 in a six-man tag team match.
