A Phenomenal assist!
A Phenomenal assist!

It wasn't a bad show. It wasn't a great show. It was just the typical SmackDown episode that had momentary bursts of energy.

The expectations were high after a solid Clash of Champions PPV, and WWE did a decent job of booking progressing storylines heading into Royal Rumble.

Twitter, as usual, was the place to be as the fans reacted to the biggest moments from this week's episode. There was a retirement teaser, a dream team competing in a six-man tag match and of course, Rusev Day. How can Twitterati stay calm, eh?

Moving onto to the greatest thing currently in the WWE, Rusev Day! The highly entertaining holiday shtick between the New Day and Rusev & Aiden English got over with the fans tremendously, however outrageous it may have seemed:

Ending with the main event of the evening, a six-man tag team match between the cream of the crop of SmackDown. Really creative. That assist from Randy Orton though! Thing of beauty!
