What’s the story?

While speaking with Sports Illustrated MMA, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier weighed in and gave his take on the recently concluded WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

In case you didn’t know…

WrestleMania 34 was by far, WWE’s biggest pay-per-view of the year despite all the ups and downs. As noted, WrestleMania 34 consisted of several big marquee matches and all of WWE’s championships were challenged on the night.

Some of the standout matches of the night were the Intercontinental Title bout, Ronda Rousey’s debut match, and the Smackdown Live Women’s Title match between Asuka and Charlotte Flair.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with Sports Illustrated MMA, Daniel “DC” Cormier had some big praises for WWE’s flagship annual event that is WrestleMania 34. He noted that WrestleMania 34 was certainly an awesome event and Cormier’s former UFC colleague Ronda Rousey definitely blew the roof off.

In addition, Cormier also praised the WWE management by noting that the Sports Entertainment company did a great job by making Ronda Rousey look like a “Rockstar” in her debut performance, however, “DC” believes that the showdown between The Undertaker and John Cena was definitely a bit bizarre due to the outcome of the match.

Furthermore, Cormier also gave his take on the dream match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura as the UFC Light heavyweight Champion claimed that the two men did put up a good contest against each other, but the match certainly could have been a lot better.

What’s next?

Daniel Cormier is currently slated to face current UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 in a Champion vs Champion matchup.

Author’s Take

Personally, I feel that “DC” is absolutely spot on with his opinion regarding WrestleMania 34. I do think that The Undertaker vs Cena match was a bit weird and Styles vs Nakamura could’ve been a lot better.
