Unpopular Opinion: Should Randy think about a possible move to AEW?

In all probability, it does seem like Randy Orton is gearing up for a feud with AJ Styles at WrestleMania in what would be a matchup of the veterans of the game. Although it should generate great billing, at one point Randy needs to ask himself what next? Over the last one year, if we take a look at what Randy has done then he has been generally away from the limelight and nowhere close to the title picture for a while now.

He embraced the new role pretty well and his new character where he went after Jeff Hardy and then Rey Mysterio garnered a lot of success but even that seems to have reached the end of the road. The character is going nowhere and for how long will he be willing to spend his time in the mid-card is anybody's guess. The fact that he's already a 13-time World Champion (Ric Flair and Cena are tied at 16 while Triple H has 14) also doesn't help because WWE does take these things seriously.

Which makes one think what is left for Randy to do in the WWE if he can't be in the main event picture? He can do something similar to what John Cena did with his US Championship open challenge but it seems he's running out of options.

A move to AEW could be a refreshing change for Randy

At this stage, thinking of a move to AEW could be something that Randy could give a thought. It's no doubt that Randy is an out and out WWE loyalist as he has achieved everything in the WWE but if he can use such leverage(of a move to AEW) to either enhance his current booking in WWE or just move, then both would be positive outcomes.

A promotion like AEW would be ecstatic if someone like Randy ends up on their roster as he would provide them with the requisite star power that they currently lack. For Randy as well, it would be something new and a completely different challenge. Either way, if Randy does give the move to AEW a thought, then at least he could see things getting better and a better placing on the card.
