Where does one draw the line between a good swerve and a cruel joke? WWE has prided itself on swerving the fans from time to time, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is good to keep the fans guessing, especially in today's social media age where even minute details get leaked in no time.

It is well within WWE's rights to swerve their fans in order to keep the product engaging and interesting.

One of the biggest problems with the current WWE product is the fact that the company sometimes ends up playing cruel jokes on the WWE Universe under the guise of a surprise or a swerve. The latest example of this was last night's Money in the Bank ladder match, where Brock Lesnar, despite not being announced for the match, ended up winning the MITB contract.

While Lesnar's return and the subsequent win was quite shocking, it will go down in history as one of the most uninspiring booking decisions in recent history. Lesnar as a Champion is something fans have gotten tired of seeing, and besides, it doesn't make any sense to have someone like Lesnar win the MITB contract.

It seems like the company is once again moving back to the status quo of having Lesnar as the top star on the red brand, which just goes to show the creative lull the company is going through right now.

The fans have been relentless in their criticism of Lesnar being a champion, and his Universal Championship reign was one of the biggest reasons why the TV ratings fell in the first place. Fans have grown tired of seeing Lesnar in the main event spot, and the company once again slotting him in the main event scene goes on to show how much they care about their fans.

WWE constantly shooting themselves on the foot will come back to haunt them in the long run. Lesnar's win at MITB created a lot of furor on social media, with many criticizing the company's decision of having Lesnar win the contract over a young and upcoming superstar.

With the impending competition in the form of AEW, WWE must make a distinction between a good swerve and a cruel joke. With tanking TV ratings and dipping live event attendance, the company is in a vulnerable position for the first time in over two decades.

AEW has generated a lot of momentum especially after landing a huge TV deal with TNT. One would've thought that Vince McMahon & Co would thread carefully during this trying times, but they have done the exact opposite.

We hope that the company realizes that it isn't the '90s anymore and AEW isn't WCW, as they have to pull up their socks before it's too late.
