The Undisputed Era's Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish were set to defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic on the latest episode of the Black-and-Gold brand. Although the NXT Tag Team Champions had started, Bobby Fish was replaced in the middle of the match as he suffered an injury. The NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong substituted him and went on to win the match and retain the tag titles for The Undisputed Era.

It is believed that Fish got hurt when Keith Lee threw him and Kyle O'Reilly outside the ring and onto each other as the show went to a commercial. Following the break, Roderick Strong was seen in the ring and the commentators confirmed that the NXT General Manager William Regal had replaced Bobby Fish due to 'medical reasons'.

Bobby Fish injury update

PWInsider has informed that the NXT Tag Team Champion was reportedly "hurt or knocked in a loop" following the assault from Keith Lee. The injury was not too serious and he was walking backstage after the show went off-air. There's a feeling that WWE replaced him mid-match as a precautionary measure, to prevent any further escalation of the damage.

After undergoing a grueling WarGames match on Saturday, Bobby Fish defended the Tag Titles the very next day at Survivor Series and after a two-day halt, again competed on this week's NXT. Naturally, the wrestler was not 100 percent while working the episode and WWE's decision to replace him immediately deserves appreciation.

We, at Sportskeeda, wish Bobby Fish a speedy recovery and hope to see him return to in-ring competition soon.
