Opinion: Predicting the future of the Balor Club
This week, WWE Superstar Finn Balor rekindled an old partnership with his best friends and former Bullet Club teammates Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to defeat The Miztourage and Elias.
During the match, the finishing sequence saw the Good Brothers hit Bo Dallas with The Magic Killer, followed up by a Coup de Grace from Balor.
It was a beautiful sight that saw the reunion of the founders of one of the most popular factions in the modern wrestling world today, for the first time in a WWE ring. What does this mean for Balor, Gallows and Anderson going forward though?
The reunion and subsequent formation of the "Balor Club" gives Balor direction after odd matches with Kane and a month of meaningless wins against The Miztourage. Balor was destined for greatness before his momentum was halted to be shoehorned in as a B-list player in the Kane/Braun Strowman feud.
The man reportedly set to take on Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at this year's Royal Rumble now was stuck in the second hour of Raw looking for something to do.
Enter: The Club. The former Raw Tag Team champions looked like killers in Monday's bout, and they seem fired up to be back, beating up "nerds" like The Miztourage. Come January 28, with Balor entering himself into the Royal Rumble match, Gallows and Anderson could become factors that help Balor win the contest.
In this writer's book, providing Balor the calvary of The Club now helps him shoot up into becoming a key favorite to win the match alongside Roman Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Looking down the road, the possibilities for future Balor Club feuds are endless. We could see them jump ship to Smackdown Live to take on the New Day once the superstar shakeup occurs, or we could even tease a potential power struggle between them and AJ Styles if the current WWE champion jumps over to Raw post-Wrestlemania.
In the meantime, the band is back together, and boy is it good to be reunited once again.
