Recent reports suggest Jade Cargill will be sidelined for quite a significant period following the backstage assault on the SmackDown star last Friday. WWE announced that the current Women's Tag Team Champion sustained several injuries, but didn't provide a timetable for her return.
It appears now that her injury is legit and WWE used the backstage incident as an opportunity to write her off TV and set the storyline for her comeback.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, pro wrestling insider Dave Meltzer provided an update on Jade Cargill's status, saying that she will be out for at least three months.
"I was told three months minimum. Whatever the actual injury is, it's being kept very secret. I’ve heard from several in the company who were aware of the injury, and they say not only do they not know what the injury is, but people who are very close to her don’t know what the injury is, but it is an injury. When I read that list (WWE's list of injuries Jade suffered), I figured one or two of them is probably the real one, but I don’t know what one or two," Dave Meltzer said. [H/T - WrestleTalk]
Based on that timeline, Jade Cargill is almost certain to miss the 2025 Royal Rumble (February 1), but she could be back in time for the Elimination Chamber (March 1), and WrestleMania 41 (April 19-20).
Bayley will replace Jade Cargill at Survivor Series: WarGames
With Jade Cargill now out, WWE has named Bayley as the replacement for team Ripley ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames. Bayley showed up on RAW last Monday and helped Bianca Belair defeat Nia Jax and gain the advantage.
The former WWE Women's Champion, who has done a great job as a face on the blue brand, appears to be the best option at the moment. WWE posted a message on social media confirming that Bayley would be replacing Cargill in Vancouver on November 30.
At Survivor Series, the Women's WarGames match will see a returning Rhea Ripley team up with Bianca Belair, Naomi, IYO SKY, and Bayley to take on Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, Candice LeRae, and Raquel Rodriguez. Team Rhea will have the advantage after Bianca picked up a win over Nia on RAW this past week.
