Who has it better - Mojo Rawley or Zack Ryder?

One of these men has had the better WWE career. Can you guess which one?

Alas, all good things come to an end. That timeless idiom holds water in sports entertainment as well after our resident Hype Bros, the team of Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder, saw their adrenaline-fueled fraternity tag team dismember over a Mojo Rawley heel turn a few weeks ago on Smackdown Live!

This abrupt, but arguably necessary, turn to the dark side for Mojo had us thinking, who has had the better career so far? We know the team has experienced some real success together over the years despite some struggles in recent times. And separately, each member of the Hype Bros has had some signature moments that would define and delineate any WWE career as a successful one.

But who has had it better?

Let’s look at some statistics that prove whether Mojo Rawley or Zack Ryder has had more success in a WWE ring.

# Win Percentage - Mojo Rawley

Mojo Rawley's win percentage is nearly 30 points higher than Zack Ryder's.

According to CageMatch.net, Mojo Rawley has a WWE career win percentage of 73.9%, having his hands raised 280 times out of a total of 379 matches. This is an incredibly high win percentage, topping even those of AJ Styles (61.0%), Randy Orton (71.3%) and Braun Strowman (46.1%).

Mojo’s win percentage also tops that of Zack Ryder, who through 1169 matches has had his hand raised 523 times for a grand total win percentage of 44.7%.

Together, the Hype Bros have a win percentage of 73.6%, slightly less than Mojo’s total win percentage and about 30 points higher than Zack Ryder’s win percentage. One could look at this statistic and say that Ryder was, in fact, holding Mojo down.

Mojo Rawley has never held gold in the WWE.

Though wins are nice, titles mean a great deal in sports entertainment. Whenever you collect some elusive gold, even for just a moment, you are forever eternalized as a champion. Championship winners are consistently referred to as “former champion” and acknowledged as a success in their careers moving forward.

For this category, the winner is quite simple. Mojo Rawley has never won gold in the WWE. Not the Tag Team Championship, not United States Championship, and not the Intercontinental Continental Championship. I only mention those three specifically, as those are the three belts Zack Ryder has victoriously worn around his waist – with the Intercontinental Championship victory in an incredible 7-way Ladder Match at Wrestlemania 32. How about that for a Wrestlemania moment?

Speaking of that…

Zack Ryder has been invited to the "Big Dance" more often.

The two Hype Bros have been ceremoniously awarded individually their own “Wrestlemania Moments”, Zack Ryder’s coming in the form of the 7-Way Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship in 2016, and Mojo Rawley winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale at this year’s Wrestlemania, a simple excuse to put Gronk on pay-per-view television, but nevertheless a moment.

We give the edge to Zack Ryder, not because of record as Mojo Rawley is TECHNICALLY undefeated at Wrestlemania events, but because Zack has gotten to fight in more matches on the “grandest stage of them all.” Also, winning a title at Wrestlemania makes any “moment” that much more memorable.

Sorry, Mojo. Ryder has had the better career out of the two Hype Bros.

Based on title reigns and Wrestlemania moments, we must conclude that Zack Ryder, despite having a win percentage nearly 30 points lower than Mojo Rawley, has had the more successful WWE career thus far.

We do, however, think Mojo will be placed in the rotation on Smackdown Live! and in WWE Pay-Per-Views more often after his recent heel turn. Will this turn into gold later? If so, we can re-evaluate then.

What do you think? Do you think our analysis got it right?
