Who is WALTER? 4 Matches you need to watch of WWE's latest signing 

European Independent Wrestling star Walter has signed with the WWE. On Monday PWInsider reported that WALTER will be part of "WWE's European expansion plans". The article also noted that WALTER is expected to play a big part in NXT UK and he will continue to work for Progress Wrestling, WXW and other WWE affiliated promotions.

WALTER has been the standout performer on the Independent scene this year. He is the current Progress World Champion and former PWG Champion. He competed in this years PWG Battle of Los Angeles.

WALTER is one of the most unique wrestlers in the world. He is no ordinary "Big Man". His captivating ring presence and hard-hitting style have earned plaudits from fans around the world. The sound of him chopping an opponent has been compared to a shotgun going off indoors! WALTER can put on a great match with anybody. He can dominate his opponent completely and sell beautifully when required.

#4. Walter vs Zack Sabre Jr - PWG All Star Weekend 13 Night 2

This was the match that shot WALTER into the spotlight. He was well known around Europe and by fans of WXW for a long time, but this match opened him up to the American audience. Dave Meltzer gave this match five stars. Meltzer's ratings are always a matter of debate among fans but a lot of people value them.

This match is fantastic. The size difference plays a big factor. WALTER throws Zack around with ease. He tosses him around the ring and at one stage tosses him into the ring. He destroys Zack's chest with brutal chops. In between the punishment, Zack continues to target WALTER's limbs with strikes and is trying to outsmart him with his mat-based style.

Is it worth the full five stars? In my opinion, no but it is well worth twenty minutes of your time. Seek this match out!

#3. WALTER vs Timothy Thatcher - Progress Chapter 62

This match is incredible! For those who are unaware, WALTER and Thatcher are part of the WXW group "Ringkampf". They are former WXW Tag Team Champions and have been competing as a team for years. That's part of what makes this match special. It's friend vs friend, brother vs brother. This is one of the most physical matches you will ever see! This is like a street fight with some psychology thrown in.

The two men hold nothing back. WALTER batters Thatcher with chops and stomps multiple times on Thatcher's head. Thatcher's chest at the end of the match says it all. WALTER doesn't care if Thatcher is his friend. he wants to defend his championship. The crowd adds to the match. They are invested in every strike thrown.

Because it happened at the start of the year, I think this match has gone under some people's radars. This is one of the best matches this year.

#2. WALTER vs Jordan Devlin - OTT Wrestlerama 2

This match took place at OTT Wrestlerama 2 earlier this Summer. OTT (Over The Top Wrestling) is the biggest wrestling promotion in Dublin, Ireland and one of the best in the UK and Ireland. WALTER faced Jordan Devlin for the OTT Championship.

Those of you who watch NXT UK are aware of who Jordan Devlin is. He was trained by Finn Balor and is arguably better than him. This year Jordan Devlin has proved he is one of the best wrestlers in the world.

The fantastic promo package before this match sets the scene perfectly. Devlin had been unbeaten in OTT for well over a year. He became the "Import Killer". At the previous OTT show, WALTER and Low Ki faced Devlin and David Starr in a tag team match and WALTER made Devlin tap out. He earned a shot at the OTT Championship and this is that match.

It's an incredible match that speaks for itself. The two men put on one hell of a match in front of one of the loudest crowds in the world. Devlin is a huge face and WALTER is a massive heel. #1. WALTER vs Will Ospreay - OTT Fourth Anniversary Show

This is another match from OTT. It took place on at the Fourth Anniversary Show last month and is WALTER's first defense of the OTT Championship.

It is another David vs Goliath encounter. Will Ospreay uses his speed and high flying ability to counter WALTER's overwhelming strength. Again, the match really speaks for itself. It's not hard to sell it. The excellent promo package before the match sets the story in place. Ospreay cares about the OTT Championship and wants to defend it around the world. WALTER is the Champion and will defend the belt at all costs.

The match takes place in the National Stadium in Dublin in front of 2,500 crazy Irish wrestling fans. The atmosphere adds so much to the match. WALTER is the foreign heel and Ospreay is the adopted son of Ireland.
