#2: The Booking so far

Extreme Rules 2018 saw Bobby Lashley dominate Roman Reigns in order to solidify himself as the 'better wrestler' amongst the two.

That victory should have been enough to guarantee Lashley a match against Brock Lesnar for The Universal Title at SummerSlam because after all, Roman Reigns & Bobby Lashley were the top two contenders.

But no, in an unexplained turn of events, this fact was later retconned on RAW. Instead, Lashley had to prove himself (once again) in front of two other WWE superstars in a Triple Threat match, which he won eventually. So why did Bobby Lashley have to prove himself two times in order to yield the same exact result?

Turns out, even Roman had to do it all again. In the end- Bobby Lashley has to face Roman Reigns (once again) in order to decide which superstar will finally face Lesnar at SummerSlam.

This type of booking is quite absurd. WWE is basically repeating similar events by disowning previous instances in order to yield the same result. It shows that the writing crew is quite unsure about how to proceed further. Will their match end in a tie?

If they are not 100% positive about their #1 contender for Lesnar's title, then it points to the fact that Lesnar will retain in the end. This specific indicator also helps me to provide some context for the next point...
