Why Finn Balor winning the Universal Championship is best for business

The latest Monday Night Raw lived up to expectations - it was entertaining, and gave the fans a brand new Intercontinental Champion, and most importantly, gave us what we wanted.

After an exciting fatal 4 way match, Finn Bálor became the number 1 contender for the Universal Championship in order to face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

But the question is - what if Finn Bálor (maybe in his demon gimmick) defeats the Beast against all odds, and what would the future hold for the Irish superstar?

First of all, it would be a fantastic decision in order to add some enthusiasm to WrestleMania 35. It has been rumored that Seth Rollins could win the Royal Rumble match on January 27, and it would be awesome to see both superstars collide for the very same title after almost 3 years.

Lets not forget that at WrestleMania 34 they performed alongside The Miz, the first match of the night with the Intercontinental Championship on the line.

Last year Rollins reigned supreme, but 2019 could be different. It would be fantastic to witness this match main eventing the show of shows.

But that is not all, and not everything in wrestling is about WrestleMania. Definitely that is an awaited bout, but some interesting rivalries could be on the horizon. Moreover, the Superstar Shake-Up is the week after WrestleMania, so more fresh matches and faces are around the corner.

The most important aspect in Bálor taking the gold is that we would no longer see Brock Lesnar in the title picture - at least for a while. And probably that would leave Braun Strowman behind too.

The Beast vs The Monster rivalry is a little bit rusty, after all these years with the very same matches. Balor winning could open the Universal Championship to everyone. For the last two years, the red belt was within the reach of very few (Lesnar, Strowman, and Roman Reigns), so more opportunities would exist on Raw.
