Opinion: Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns to be the main event of WrestleMania 34

Lesnar vs Reigns may be the main event of WrestleMania once again
Roman Reigns may take on Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 34

WrestleMania is almost upon us and many fans are wondering what the main event will be. But if you have been listening to what has been said on RAW and SmackDown lately, it's not that hard to fathom.

Although the main event of a pay-per-view is often not decided until a week or two before the actual event, the Royal Rumble in January being a good example, the WrestleMania 34 main event looks likely to have been agreed upon very well in advance.

Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship has been the planned WrestleMania main event for just about one year now. Although plans could always change, many expect Roman to come out on top in the men's Elimination Chamber match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in less than two weeks' time.

Traditionally, the Royal Rumble winner would always advance into the main event of WrestleMania to face the champion of his choosing. Just moments after he won the 30-man match, Shinsuke Nakamura revealed that he would challenge WWE Champion AJ Styles.

This should be the main event set in stone; however, it appears WWE have other plans once again. In fact, I can't even remember the last time the announcers at the Royal Rumble said that the winner would go to the main event of WrestleMania; now they just say he will face the champion of his choice at the show.

For the past several weeks on RAW, several different superstars, this week being The Miz and John Cena, clearly said the winner of the Elimination Chamber would face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania. On SmackDown though, the announcers have been saying Shinsuke Nakamura will challenge the winner of the WWE Championship match from Fastlane at WrestleMania.

Now, this may not sound entirely concrete, but I think they mean it when they have said it. Unless WWE realizes that the heavily rumored Lesnar vs Reigns match will receive a negative response from the live audience and changes their minds last minute, we are likely to see the Universal Championship match close the show.
