Why Ronda Rousey vs. Banks could be the beginning of the Horsewomen feud

When Ronda Rousey was asked to choose her opponent for the RAW women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble, she picked former women’s champion, Sasha Banks.

After winning their tag team match against Nia Jax and Tamina, Rousey had a bad case of word vomit as she mentioned it was an honor to team with her and a victory over her at the Royal Rumble would be her greatest accomplishment. That didn’t sit well with Banks.

“It would be my pleasure to teach you to lose with class,” Banks said to Rousey, to which she replied, “You can keep the title of the world’s classiest loser because I don’t want it.”

Rousey kept trying to justify her words by saying she didn’t mean it like that, but we all know, she meant it like that. As Banks walked away, you see her throwing up four fingers. This either references her times as champion, or the possible horsewomen feud.

With Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and now Banks furious at Rousey, all the creative team has to do now is throw Bayley into the mix and we're halfway towards the rumored Wrestlemania match. So how should WWE put this plan into motion?

Royal Rumble should serve as the battleground

The best thing about the rumble is it usually includes wrestlers from RAW, Smackdown Live, and NXT. With this being said, all four of WWE’s Horsewomen and MMA’s Horsewomen will be under the same roof.

Although Lynch has her title opportunity with Asuka for the SDL women’s championship and Rousey and Banks for RAW, somewhere within the rumble we could see Flair and Bayley perhaps encountering either Shayna Baszler or her teammates, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir. If either of these women, if not all three, attack Bayley, this will complete the set-up for the feud

Brand invasions

After the rumble, unless there are some more unannounced call-ups, having Baszler, Duke, and Shafir randomly pop-up on RAW and SmackDown and attacking Lynch, Flair, Banks, and Bayley and vice versa will not only add to the fuel of the feud, but it may help the ratings for the main rosters.

Unlike around Survivor Series season when the red and blue brands come to each other shows and duke it out, having the more popular NXT women come through and leave their mark will heighten this build even more.

Wrestlemania match with an added stipulation

If all things go according to plan for this match, and if the company embraces a Rousey heel turn, the MMA horsewomen can take control by adding a stipulation to their match. Instead of a regular eight women tag, what if the heel MMA women challenge them to a cage match.

By putting the faces of the WWE women in a habitat that Rousey’s group are known to dominate. It would actually put more attention on how the wrestlers will deal with the former cage fighters.

We can definitely have this match at Mania and all of these works will get the fans just as excited for the match.

Will Baszler, Shafir, and/or Duke make a surprise entry in the women's Royal Rumble match, and set-up the feud? We'll have to wait and watch!
