Why the WWE may not change under the leadership of Triple H

One of the most talked about fan theories in modern day WWE is the idea of Triple H replacing Vince McMahon as the head honcho of the world's biggest wrestling promotion. The 73-year old patriarch of WWE has been in charge of the company for over three decades now and is still not showing any signs of slowing down.

Vince is still the most powerful personality both as an on-screen authority figure as well as the company's head booker. All creative decisions have to be greenlit by the septuagenarian before it appears on TV.

Whether one likes it or not, the recent slump in WWE's TV ratings and the recent loss the company suffered in the quarterly earnings can solely be attributed to McMahon's harsh and sometimes outright absurd bookings, which have left fans scratching their heads in disbelief time and time again.

But the question on everyone's mind is what will happen when Vince eventually hands over the reins of the company to his son-in-law, Triple H? Hunter has had a great track record as an executive - be it the signings of stars like Ronda Rousey, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe, or the immense success of NXT.

NXT, in particular, has been the biggest accomplishment of the Ceberal Assasin's career as an executive.

A large section of WWE fans believes that The Game will bring about changes in the product once he takes over from his father-in-law. But we have to remember that the main roster is a different beast altogether, and while we may believe that once Hunter takes charge things might change for good, that might not be the case.

The Game has been in an important executive position for quite some time, but that hasn't changed anything on either RAW or SmackDown. Completely altering the way the creative team operates in the company would be a humungous task even for someone like The Game.

WWE's weekly RAW and SmackDown episodes cater to an entirely different set of fans, and it is ludicrous to think the Game, with his magic wand, will change everything overnight.

WWE's monopoly over the wrestling business has seen it become the colossus of the industry. But if the recent trend is anything to go by, the company has lost a major chunk of its fans due to their booking decisions and inconsistent storytelling.

It is apparent that things won't change once Triple H takes on the role Vince McMahon occupies currently. Hunter can't make drastic changes on the main roster, given the nature of the company.

The only way WWE will change is if they face stiff competition, as they did during the Monday Night Wars. Competition breeds success, and WWE had been at its best while facing competition.
