WrestleMania 34: 5 potential finishes for Charlotte vs Asuka - SmackDown Women's Championship

It's hard to pinpoint where the build-up to this match actually began since these two women have been dominating on opposite brands for the past few years and the WWE Universe have always had that feeling in the back of their mind that at some point they would collide.

Charlotte has all of the Championships and accolades that allow her to call herself The Queen, but Asuka is the longest reigning NXT Women's Champion in history and still remains unpinned throughout her WWE career.

This match is one of the most anticipated women's matches in recent memory since Charlotte will be putting the SmackDown Women's Championship on the line, whilst Asuka puts up her undefeated streak. There are a number of options that WWE have when it comes to the finish of the match this weekend in New Orleans.

#5. Asuka becomes SmackDown Women's Champion

Will Asuka be the one getting her hand raised on Sunday night?

This is widely considered to be the most predictable outcome for the match since it is being speculated that WWE wants Asuka's streak to continue following WrestleMania so that she can be the woman who steps up to WWE's newest acquisition, Ronda Rousey.

Asuka's streak is huge right now and even someone as gifted as Charlotte does seem as though she would be able to prevent The Empress of Tomorrow from taking home the SmackDown Women's Championship on Sunday night. This would be Asuka's first main roster Championship and her first WrestleMania victory on her debut at the event.

#4. The Riott Squad interfere and make it a no contest

The SmackDown Women's Division has been dominated by The Riott Squad ever since they made their main roster debut back in November but it seems that after Ruby Riott failed to pick up the Women's Championship back at Fastlane, Asuka has stepped into the title picture heading into the biggest event of the year.

The Riott Squad can't be happy that someone from the Raw roster has been able to come over and take a place on the WrestleMania card that they should have taken up, so it would be interesting to see if there is any kind of interference in this match, that way the title doesn't change hands and Asuka's streak remains intact.

It would be a cheap finish to a match that the WWE Universe is highly anticipating, but don't underestimate WWE's ability to always have to make Charlotte look strong.

#3. Carmella cashes in after Charlotte/Asuka wins the match

Carmella has been teasing a cash-in with her Money in the Bank contract over the past few weeks and event attempted to cash it in once again during the match between Charlotte and Natalya last night on SmackDown Live.

It is widely rumored that Carmella could be set to cash in on whichever woman wins the match on Sunday night, rather than interfering part way through. The first ever winner only has another two months to use her contract and it seems that she is becoming increasingly desperate.

It's unlikely that Carmella will be able to dethrone Asuka, but if Charlotte wins and Carmella cashes in, then it's easy to see the title changing hands.

#2. Charlotte ends the streak

Charlotte would be the perfect person to end the streak

Charlotte calls herself The Queen and there isn't anyone who can argue with the fact that the SmackDown Women's Champion deserves that accolade. Her dominance over the Women's Division ever since she was promoted to the main roster back in 2015 has proved that she is the perfect person to take on Asuka and end the streak.

Asuka came through NXT after Charlotte had left and the duo hasn't crossed paths during their time in WWE since the company has been careful to ensure that they have been kept apart so that this remains a hotly anticipated matchup. Don't underestimate a Flair's ability to lie, and cheat her way to victory if she knows that this is a match that she can't win fairly.

#1. Carmella cashes in her Money In The Bank mid-match

The last time a Money in the Bank contract was cashed in at WrestleMania, it was mid-match and it then turned the match into a triple threat. It would be the perfect option for WWE to be able to ensure that both Charlotte and Asuka come out of the match looking strong, because neither woman would have to be pinned.

Carmella could wait until the opportune moment, like she has in recent weeks but when she thinks she can hit her finisher and get the win, either Charlotte or Asuka can then force her to tap. Much like when Roman Reigns was pinned by Seth Rollins, it allowed Brock Lesnar to continue to look strong, since he wasn't actually part of the finish. There aren't many fans who believe that Carmella will be able to cash in her Money in the Bank successfully, so this could easily be considered one of the best options that WWE has.
