#4. Building for better things
The Revival are one the strongest tag teams in WWE right now. The top guys are undoubtedly the fan favorites on RAW and having them crushed by another team would have looked odd.
However, the only storyline the WWE Universe would not have had an issue with is that of an underdog. WWE creative used this wisely and got the titles off the top guys and kept the fans happy at the same time.
Now, with Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins as champions, the return of AOP or any other tag team can be eased. AOP making their return on Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania and cruising to a win will hurt no one's push and only make the tag division more interesting.
At the same time, had they made their return and defeated The Revival straight away, the fans would have not liked it. So, this basically looks like a move to build a rivalry between The Revival and AOP in the coming months.
