Is WWE Wrestlemania coming to Minnesota? WWE issues statement

Minnesota has been revealed as a future venue for WWE Wrestlemania

In a video posted on the Minnesota Vikings’ website, it was revealed that a WrestleMania will be coming to US Bank Stadium in the future. However, the earliest Minnesota can host the event would be in 2017, which is WrestleMania 33. WrestleMania 32 will be hosted by AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on April 3, 2016. Minnesota had been speculated on in the past about hosting WrestleMania and in January, the team hired Patrick Talty as their new General Manager for the stadium. Talty previously worked as WWE's Senior VP of live events. This new $1 billion stadium in the works will be able to hold up to 73,000 people. While not as big as AT&T Stadium, it would certainly draw a crowd. This new complex is set to open in 2016. Vikings Vice President of Public Affairs Lester Bagley had the following to say on it:

"Before the building is even open, we have already secured the Super Bowl in 2018, the NCAA basketball Final Four in 2019. We are a finalist and seem to be in a very good position to secure the college football playoffs, the BCS Championship game and you know we've got WrestleMania coming."

Minnesota earlier has been very vocal about their desire to host Wrestlemania. However, with WrestleMania 32 already being announced to be taking place in Dallas, TX next year, the earliest Minnesota could be hosting the event is in 2017, for WrestleMania 33. WWE on their part has issued the following statement today:

“Minneapolis is one of the many cities that has expressed an interest in hosting a future WrestleMania. Beyond WrestleMania in Dallas, TX on April 3, 2016, locations for future WrestleMania's have not been announced.”
