Tye Dillinger has asked for his release!

What's the story?

There have been a number of WWE Superstars of late, who have been rumored to be leaving WWE or to have asked for their release. One such Superstar -- Dean Ambrose -- was even officially announced by WWE to be leaving the company following the expiration of his contract after WrestleMania 35.

Now, WWE Superstar Tye Dillinger has also come forward and confirmed that he has asked for his release from WWE.

In case you didn't know...

Ever since the 1st of January of 2019, when the All Elite Wrestling promotion was announced, there has been a sense of restlessness in the wrestling world. A large number of wrestlers have been rumored to have asked for their release from the company. WWE has also changed their booking to seemingly better compete with the new promotion, which is yet to have their first show, giving several Superstars who were sidelined for a long time, their first big push.

However, unfortunately for 'Perfect 10' Tye Dillinger, he was not among the ranks of the performers to get such a push.

The heart of the matter

Tye Dillinger took to Instagram where he made a post so that he could make his situation with WWE clear.

He revealed that after 5 and a half year with WWE, he finally requested his release from the company last evening. He said that he was glad to have worked with some of the greatest talents in the world, and confessed that while the decision was a hard one he was sure it was best for both him and WWE.

"I wish to continue to grow as a performer and offer those paying hard-earned money to watch a show I'm performing on, a little more of myself."

He ended his post by thanking everyone in the locker room.

What's next?

While WWE has not yet officially accepted his release, with a post like this, it appears the deal is already done.

With that in mind, it could very well be possible that Tye Dillinger has a destination in mind and it is AEW.
