#5 Hulk Hogan's returns

One of the biggest highlights of 2018 was the return of Hall of Fame Superstar, Hulk Hogan. His image in the WWE was ruined and he was forced to leave the company back in 2015 due to his extremely unpopular controversial remarks and a leaked tape that came out in the open at that time.

Even though he won the lawsuit, a lot of distaste still remained about the things he had said and it was dubious if the fans would be willing to welcome him back into the ring or not.

After issuing multiple apologies and spending three years later to rebuild his image Hogan was finally reinstated and made a rapturous return at the controversial Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.

The fans showered him with a standing ovation showing their love for him and his return. The former six-time Heavyweight Champion could make some impact on the company in the coming months.

#4 Look out for Ronda before she gets Rowdy!

Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest superstars we should be looking out for in 2019 as she made waves with her first appearance in the WrestleMania 31 and became a big part of WWE after WrestleMania 34. Since then, she hasn’t failed even once to impress the WWE Universe.

She was the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion and she officially joined the WWE back in January for the Royal Rumble and made her in-ring debut in New Orleans at WrestleMania 34. She teamed up with Kurt Angle for a phenomenal match against Triple H and Stephanie Mc Mahon.

She also managed to outshine her next challenger Nia Jax at Money in the Bank, but she was beaten to the belt when Alexa Bliss cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to pin Jax, usurping the former UFC star.

It was at SummerSlam that Ronda was finally able to defeat Bliss at last and secure her first RAW Women’s Championship. Ronda has definitely managed to catch attention and prove her worth in the short time she's been in the WWE.

#3 Brock Lesnar takes over the Universal Championship

Lesnar was defeated by Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, however, after Roman needed a time out from the WWE due to Leukemia and retired he was given a shot at the championship at Crown Jewel Event where the Beast Incarnate defeated Braun Strowman to win the Universal Championship.

Lesnar had been planning to return to the UFC in 2019 and had been facing a lot of criticism from the WWE for his decision, with WWE Raw manager Kurt Angle even telling viewers that he may not be receiving a rematch for a long time due to this.

However, the unfortunate remittance of Roman Reigns leukaemia needed the WWE to bring him up to increase viewership and ratings so he was called back and given a chance at the title again.

Just like many of Lesnar's previous major victories in WWE, he landed several ‘F-5’s on Strowman including one where he tossed him right outside the ring.

He ended it by landing one final F-5 that put Strowman down and out letting him win the Universal Championship Title to much of Saudi Arabia’s delight and the world’s mixed response.

#2 Becky Lynch proclaims herself as ‘The Man’

Becky Lynch may have just become WWE's biggest superstar this year, as the 31-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the WWE in the past few months. She’s increased her appeal with a mix of hard work in the ring and flawless mic skills.

When Becky Lynch defeated her rival Charlotte Flair she decided to start calling herself “The Man”. Many WWE fans understood that she wasn’t talking about her gender but an obvious dig at Charlotte’s father's Ric Flair’s famous catchphrase, “To be the man, you gotta beat the man.”

As it's accepted that Charlotte inherited her father’s skill and prestige hence by beating Charlotte for the title, Becky “beat the man,” and has, therefore, become “the man.”

Because she has become the showcase for evolution and equality, Becky’s assertion that she is “The Man” has gained her fans of all ages and all types. It is a respect well-earned after years of hard work on SmackDown and could ultimately lead to her participating in the first ever all-women main event at WrestleMania 35 next year.

Roman Reigns announced a heartbreaking leukaemia diagnosis and shocked the WWE fans around the world when he revealed that he had lived with leukaemia for the last 11 years and that, due to the cancer returning, he would have to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship to focus on his health.

For over three years, Reigns has been the WWE's heir apparent, the man tapped by Vince McMahon to carry the company. Reigns has main evented four straight WrestleManias, became a Grand Slam Champion, and battled top wrestlers like Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles and was made the face of WWE.

While Reigns has often struggled to connect with fans, mainly because of him being the 'Big Dog' and fans booing him, the WWE Universe showed an outpouring of support after his heartbreaking announcement showing the personal connection the fans made with him because of his disease and separating the script roles from reality.

A heartwarming backstage video was also released where all of the Raw locker room came together to embrace the former Universal Champion and wish him the best of luck for his battle against the disease.
