August Grey and Curt Stallion vs Killian Dain and Drake Maverick on 205 Live
Drake Maverick debuted the new music for himself and Killian Dain on 205 Live and it...was essentially the same, just with a guitar riff this time. Maverick felt like headbanging, while Dain was visibly frustrated.
The former 205 Live GM started things off with Curt Stallion. Maverick tried to get his dance over with the 205 Live crowd but it...wasn't 100% successful. Still, he was able to bring Santos Escobar's No. 1 contender over with an arm drag. Stallion tagged out to Grey, who stepped up to the challenge.
"Come on, big man. Let's go." Maverick decided to tag in the Beast of Belfast, someone we never thought we'd see on 205 Live. Killian Dain ran right through Grey with a shoulder tackle. Grey's running crossbody hit Dain, and Grey ended up hurting himself.
Dain tagged in Maverick, and shoved him down in front of Grey, tripping him up. Dain followed up with a running senton before slamming his partner on Grey. Tagging back in, Dain used Drake as a weapon to batter both opponents.
Stallion tagged in, and the duo rocked Dain with a series of strikes. Dain countered a double suplex, though, sending them to the floor. As The Hound of Ulster tagged out, he teased a dive before sending his own tag team partner onto Stallion and Grey.
In the ring, Drake pinned Stallion down for a two-count. Grey was in next and slowed things down, bringing the former 205 Live GM down with a headlock. Dain eventually got the hot tag and bowled over Grey and Stallion with ease. A belly-to-belly sent Grey overhead, and Dain crushed both opponents in their corners.
A shotgun dropkick launched Grey into Stallion, and Dain spiked Stallion with a uranage before hitting a tope atomico. The Divide crushed Grey, with Stallion just barely breaking the pin.
Stallion attempted to bring Dain over with a German suplex, but he was too heavy. Luckily, Grey was there to superkick him over Stallion's shoulders. Dain was kicked out at two, and Drake Maverick came in to help save his partner. After a tag, Dain and Maverick hit a pair of pump kicks on Stallion. As Maverick knocked out Grey, Dain planted Stallion with a powerbomb.
To put an exclamation on that, Dain powerbombed Maverick onto Stallion, sending this unlikely duo to the quarterfinals.
Results: Drake Maverick and Killian Dain defeated Curt Stallion and August Grey via pinfall on 205 Live.
