Can the 205 Live OG redeem himself against Ashante "Thee" Adonis?

Last week, Curt "Lonestar" Stallion managed to knock off four of the best 205 Live had to offer to become the new contender to the NXT Cruiserweight Champion. Stallion said that he saw all the Cruiserweights after the match ready to congratulate him...all of them except, of course, Santos Escobar.

Stallion said that Escobar needed to smarten up because the fastest rising star in 205 Live would be coming for his throne.

Tony Nese vs Ashante "Thee" Adonis on 205 Live

The Premier Athlete of 205 Live took the fight to Ashante "Thee" Adonis, looking to once again make an example of one of the newer members of the roster. A nasty clothesline from Adonis, though, turned things around. Tony Nese was battered by Adonis, and a back body drop sent him to the floor.

Adonis focused on attempting to intimidate Ariya Daivari. No dice. A little showboating from Adonis, something that he'd been instructed against by 205 Live veteran and former Cruiserweight Champion Brian Kendrick, allowed Nese to wrap the apron around Adonis and hit a dropkick.

Nese hung Adonis up on the top and hit a fantastic triangle moonsault. Adonis kicked out. Nese mounted his opponent for some stiff strikes and hit a spinning back kick to the gut. Adonis responded with a pair of knees to the sternum before hitting a suplex. After a flapjack, a fist drop nearly earned the 205 Live newcomers a win. A float-over DDT spiked Nese for a two-count.

Adonis escaped the Sunset Driver but had his jaw kicked off with a spinning back kick. Nese informed Daivari to use his gold chain on Adonis, but it backfired. Adonis planted him with a spinebuster before knocking out Tony Nese with The Long Kiss Goodnight.

Results: Ashante "Thee" Adonis defeated Tony Nese via pinfall on 205 Live.
