This is one of the biggest reasons why Vince McMahon would have thought of implementing this idea. Now we can see Interbrand feuds and matches on a weekly basis and that opens up the possibility of seeing a Universal Champion on SmackDown Live and a WWE Champion on Raw.

#1 Helps with the FOX deal

FOX will soon be taking over SmackDown Live
FOX will soon be taking over SmackDown Live

FOX will soon air SmackDown Live and this would have been the biggest reason why Vince thought of this idea. FOX would want big superstars in their ranks as they would want drawing power on the blue brand, and that means that they would want some big superstars every week.

This rule allows McMahon to let the likes of AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre to appear every other week on SmackDown and that would mean more views for FOX. Whatever happens in the following weeks with this idea remains to be seen, but from the initial looks, this looks to be the best for the business.
