What's the story?

On today's Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that All Elite Wrestling had made an offer to top independent wrestling star Viper. However, he revealed that she is WWE bound instead.

In case you didn't know...

Viper is one of the top female talents on the indies today having spent most of 2018 at the top of ICW's women's division and crushing it for World of Sports Wrestling. With that in mind, calling her one of wrestling's hottest free agents might be an understatement.

Before 2018, Viper appeared as Piper Niven in WWE's first ever Mae Young Classic Tournament and she put in a fantastic showing, losing to Toni Storm in the semi-finals. Many expected her to sign with WWE immediately after that, but she didn't for some reason.

The heart of the matter

Meltzer discussed that All Elite Wrestling had approached Viper to be part of their women's division as well as Mayu Iwatani.

As you can see, it looks like WWE have pipped All Elite Wrestling to the post when it comes to signing the Scottish powerhouse often known as 'The Megaton Barbie.' This is somewhat of a shame for AEW, as Viper would've been a great addition.

Dave Meltzer was later asked about Viper and responded saying he'd already covered it, but did offer up that fellow WOS and ICW star Kay Lee Ray could have an interesting future

What's next?

I said Viper would've been a great signing for AEW, but that doesn't mean she won't be a great signing for WWE! Not only is she extremely talented, but she's completely different to everyone else on the roster and that's absolutely a great thing.

If this is indeed true and Viper is WWE bound, then their early 2019 Performance Center intake could be off the charts good!
