WWE: Batista reveals why his Royal Rumble return flopped
WWE superstar, Batista, has disclosed the reasons behind his weak return to the WWE ring at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
The Animal, who was heavily bashed by the WWE universe for his below par performance , revealed why his comeback did not go according to plan in a video. He cited wardrobe issues as the main problem for his sluggish performance on the night.
The Evolution member faced several problems before the 30-man Royal Rumble match as shown in the clip. The zipper on his boots broke and he could not find the Gorilla position before his entrance. He was over conscious about his looks and had to be fitted with new wrestling trunks.
“It just felt like old times because it just felt like every time we were getting ready for a live show, everything goes wrong, man,” said Batista, in his sit-down interview.
A WWE personnel is seen sewing up his boot when Sheamus enters the arena at no.17. The struggle goes on even when Luke Harper’s turn comes at no.22.
“I haven’t warmed up, I still don’t know exactly what I’m doing. Just nothing is going right… And then you go.”
The video ends with Batista entering the match at no.28, which he eventually won after defeating Roman Reigns.
