Former star to make a surprise return at WWE SummerSlam?

The biggest bash of the summer could see a big return

WWE banks on big name stars – both former and current – to amp up the success of its pay-per-views by making surprising returns, and come SummerSlam, we might see the same unfold to the delight of the fans.

As reported earlier, Rey Mysterio could make his WWE return after his contract with AAA comes to an end. The reason why Mysterio isn’t sticking around with AAA has been attributed to payment issues, something that the promotion is notoriously known for.

While Mysterio isn’t expected to be back for WrestleMania 32, credible sources backstage have said that 619 may be back in time for SummerSlam. For that to happen, though, Mysterio would have to sort out his deal with Lucha Underground and clear his dues with AAA.

Mysterio – who a year back ruled out any chance of a WWE return – is quite eager to get back to his former company as it is financially a more lucrative option. Mysterio is also said to be pushing for a part-time deal – that is if he does return – and would work a lighter schedule going forward.

Mysterio returning at SummerSlam isn’t confirmed at the moment, but if the inputs of his close friends are any indication – who believe it’s only a matter of time before the masked luchador returns to his former company – then we might see the 619 in back in the WWE ring soon enough.
