Pre-Show:

#1 Nia Jax vs Alicia Fox

Nia Jax pretty much squashes Alicia Fox and ragdolls her again, in what is a rematch from Raw. Alicia Fox does manage to get in some offence though, and even gets in a pin on Jax after hitting her with a crossbody from the top rope.

Jax, however, snatches back the momentum and lays waste to Alicia Fox in pretty dominant fashion.

Result: Nia Jax def. Alicia Fox by pinfall

#2 New Day vs The Club for the Tag Team Championships

youtube-cover

A hot crowd gets the Tag Team Championship match underway, as the Club goes right after the New Day from the get go. All the early running is done by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows as the New Day seem to be overwhelmed by the intensity of the Club.

A couple of close near falls as The Club manages to clear Big E from the ring, while they focus offence on Kofi Kingston. Xavier Woods is also taken out on ringside by Gallows. Kofi eats a nasty Spinebuster from Anderson and is almost put away with a Magic Killer before battling out.

The fight spills outside as Xavier Woods makes use of the trombone to hit Anderson in the head, allowing Big E and Kofi to double team him for the pin. New Day retains their title

Result: New Day (c) def. Anderson and Gallows

#3 TJ Perkins (c) vs Brian Kendrick for the Cruiserweight Championship

They kick the match off with Perkins locking on his patented knee-bar but Kendricks manages to squirm his way to the ropes to keep the match alive. The fight spills on outside next, where Kendricks gets in some offence.

TJ Perkins looks to outwork Kendricks on the mat, with a couple of slick looking submission attempts, but the veteran responds with his typical rough-house style. They exchange offence as TJ Perkins looks to take it up top.

They briefly struggle on the top turn buckle before TJ Perkins takes both Kendricks and himself out of the ring with a hurricurana off the top rope. The action quickens as both men try to snap on their respective finishers, but Perkins manages to lock in his kneebar and Kendricks taps out.

Result: TJ Perkins (c) def. Brian Kendricks by submission

Kendricks headbutts Perkins after the match when the Champion looks to hug it out with the challenger.

#4 Cesaro vs Sheamus 7th Match in Best of 7 Series

youtube-cover

Typically hard hitting encounter between these 2 Superstars as they go after each other with clubbing blows and stiff shots right from the onset. Sheamus asserts early control after targetting the injured back of Cesaro with his offence.

Cesaro looks to fight back with uppercuts as he sends Sheamus flying into the turnbuckles before following it up with an Uppercut barrage. He whips Sheamus onto the second rope and hits him with a 619. Yes, you read right, a 619.

He then tries to put Sheamus away with a Neutraliser but the Celtic Warrior stems the tide of offence by going to Cesaro’s back again. Sheamus continues punishing Cesaro’s lower back but can’t seem to put him away.

Both of these Superstars hit the other with their best shot, but neither can seem to finish the other off. They take the fight outside and both go over the barricade where they lie, absolutely spent after the exertions.

Doctors check on both of them and the bell is rung, with neither man deemed fit to resume the fight. Cesaro seems to be the better off between the two, as he gets back into the ring. Sheamus is helped to the back by the officials, as the audience chant ‘let them fight.’

Result: No Contest

#5 Sami Zayn vs Chris Jericho

youtube-cover

Sami Zayn expectedly starts off with a flurry and has Jericho on the backfoot, but it is only a matter of time before the veteran composes himself and wrests back control of the match.

He methodically works on Zayn and tries to get him counted out, but Sami makes the count. Jericho looks to continue with his steady offence but is thwarted by Zayn who sends him outside and follows up with a high flying move.

Zayn in complete control now as he looks to put Jericho away with a couple of high impact moves. The veteran isn’t quite done yet, and manages to hang on using all his experience and nous, cleverly creating separation and rolling out of the ring.

Sami Zayn isn’t in a mood to relent as he connects with the tornado DDT through the ropes before getting the veteran back into the ring. He follows it up with a Blue Thunder Bomb but Jericho kicks out from the pin attempt.

Zayn looks to finish off Jericho but the veteran hits a Codebreaker out of nowhere and covers Zayn for the win.

Result: Chris Jericho def. Sami Zayn via pinfall

#6 Charlotte (c) vs Sasha Banks vs Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship

youtube-cover

Sasha and Charlotte go after each other, leaving Bayley unattended momentarily. But the action quickly descends into each women for herself as they all trade offence with one another.

Dana Brooke quickly gets involved though, cheap-shotting Bayley outside the ring to leave Charlotte with Sasha inside. Charlotte targets the injured back of Sasha Banks as Bayley looks to regroup outside the ring.

Sasha Banks meanwhile, establishes some offence of her own, and turns her attention to both Charlotte and Bayley with the double knees in the corner. The action goes back and forth in a highly entertaining encounter between all three ladies, with Dana Brooke blatantly coming into the ring to break up a Bank Statement on Charlotte.

Since it’s a no disqualification match, anything goes, and Charlotte gets away with it.

Sasha Banks and Bayley get in each others way though, allowing Charlotte to land a huge kick to Bayley’s face and pin her for the 3 count.

Result: Charlotte (c) def. Bayley and Sasha Banks via pinfall (Bayley)

#7 Rusev (c) vs Roman Reigns for the US Championship

youtube-cover

Huge reaction for Roman Reigns as the Big Dog comes out to face Rusev for the US Title. Typical start to the match as Roman sends Rusev reeling out of the ring, only for the Bulgarian Brute to return fire after coming back in.

Rusev then targets Reigns’ abdomen before sending him shoulder first into the ring post. Roman tries to fight back, but to no avail as Rusev imposes his will on him with a headlock followed by a dropkick.

But the momentum built by the US Champion is headed off when Reigns fights back and sends the Bulgarian Brute shoulder first onto the steel steps. He looks to capitalise on it but is met with a Superkick from Rusev.

Rusev looks to follow that up with another Superkick but is intercepted by a Superman Punch. Reigns hits a Spear but Lana pulls the referee out just as he is about to count 3!

The referee has had enough and sends Lana to the back! Rusev capitalises on the time to recover, and tries to lock in the Accolade. Reigns fights out of it and hits the Spear out of nowhere to pin Rusev.

We have a new US Champion!

Result: Roman Reigns def. Rusev via pinfall to win US Championship

#8 Kevin Owens (c ) vs Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship

youtube-cover

The bell rings to start the match and Kevin Owens slides out of the ring immediately. Rollins follows him out and sends him into the barricade back-first, before taking the attack to him in the ring as well.

Rollins with the early offence as he seems to be fighting with a chip on his shoulder here, as Kevin Owens looks a little overwhelmed with the offence that is coming his way at a frenetic pace.

Owens finally manages to stem the tide by going to Rollins’ ‘surgically repaired knee’ before asserting himself on the match with an incessant attack on on the same, just as the commentators plug Owens as a cerebral competitor.

He continues the assault, mixed in with his unique brand of trash talk, before Rollins turns the momentum his side out of nowhere with a huge clothesline. Rollins then quickens the pace of the match, mounting a flurry of offence which leads to an unsuccessful pin attempt.

He boots Owens out of the ring and sends him face first onto the barricade, before clearing the monitors from the Spanish announcer table to set them up. Privy to the danger, Owens cannily rolls back into the ring.

Rollins follows him back into the ring and tries to lock on a Pedigree, but the Champion fights back and sends the challenger into the bottom turn buckle in the corner. He hits the Cannon Ball twice, but Rollins rolls out of the way for the third attempt.

That still doesn’t deter Owens, who hits a package front suplex on Rollins that earns him an unsuccessful 2 count.

Owens then goes to the top rope, but is met with a kick to the face by Rollins, who tries to hit a Superplex on him. Owens fights out and hits a Gutbuster from the top followed by a Frog Splash that earns him a near fall.

Unable to put Rollins away, Owens sends him outside and onto the Spanish announcer table. He tries to hit a Running Senton but nobody home as he crashes down on the table.

Rollins gets him back into the ring and hits a Frog Splash followed by a Pedigree, but the pin is broken up when Chris Jericho – Kevin Owen’s best friend – comes out and drags Owens’ leg onto the bottom rope.

In the ensuing melee, the referee gets taken out and Jericho even gets into the ring to attack Rollins. Seth fights him off before hitting Owens with a pedigree, but the referee is knocked out and unable to make the count for the pin.

Stephanie McMahon comes down with another referee and gets him into the ring, just as Seth Rollins turns into a Pop-up Powerbomb from Owens. Cover. 1-2-3!

Kevin Owens screws Seth Rollins out of the match and retains the WWE Universal Championship! Surprisingly, no sign of Triple H!

Result: Kevin Owens def. Seth Rollins to retain the WWE Universal Championship
